I want to have a word with whoever said that knitting is supposed to be a relaxing activity. I was anything but relaxed for the majority of this project. This soaker gave me SOOO many headaches. If I wasn't losing count of how many stitches were in each row (especially for the increases and decreases in the legs), I was dropping stitches and they ran down 5 rows and I had to redo them or accidentally messing up my k1p1 ribbing by putting 2 knits or 2 purls together and then having to go back and fix it. Half way through it I lost my crochet hook, which is my savior for when I make a mistake. If I can't fix it with a crochet hook, I "un-knit" back to the spot where the mistake was because I refuse to frog rows (mainly because I end up messing things up more if I do that). Then when I finally finished it, the stupid bind off edge was WAY too tight so I had to undo that and reknit the top row (and re-bind off). I chose a stretchier Russian bind off (which is k2, slip the sts back to the left needle, k2tog, *k1, sl 2 sts on right needle back to the left needle, k2tog*....in case you're interested) this time and it seems much much better. Thank God for Ravelry! I seriously don't know where I would be if I couldn't look stuff up on Ravelry.
The yarn I chose was a sport weight yarn so I chose to knit the soaker with two strands held together. It resulted in a relatively thick fabric, which I hope will make for a bullet proof soaker! I'm really happy with how the colors turned out.

Clean slate
It's been a while since I have started a new blog. I forgot how empty and clean it looks. Full of possibilities!
I don't expect to update this all that frequently, mainly because I'm a fairly slow knitter, but I wanted a place to post the things I've knitted without cluttering up my other blog (which I hardly ever update). I figured not everyone would want to read about/hear about the stuff I knit. That doesn't stop me from wanting to show it off though, thus...a knitting blog!
